To access the support from our team of befrienders you will need to be someone who has a caring responsibility for someone close to you. You are able to self-refer or an agency can refer you into the Carers Service by completing a simple form. Our Volunteer Coordinator will meet you and discuss you needs and how a befriender could assist you. You will be matched to one of our befrienders, who will meet with you 1 x week to do a planned activity, such as going to a group, going for a walk or going for a coffee.

Information for Volunteers
Our service provides support to people who are carers. We work with both young and adult carers, providing groups, drop-ins, activities and 1-1 support in North Somerset. We have secured Lottery funding to fund a volunteer coordinator for 3 years. We are looking for befrienders who are keen to offer friendship and support to carers. You will receive training and be matched to a suitable carers. You will be a valuable member of our team here at Alliance Homes. This will be an exciting opportunity for people to gain skills and experience working with a diverse range of people.
