Alzheimer Scotland
Volunteer ServiceAbout Alzheimer Scotland
The befriending service aims to make a real difference to the lives of people living with dementia by reducing loneliness and social isolation. Our Befriending Volunteers offer companionship on a regular basis. The aim of this relationship is to boost confidence, encourage participation in hobbies and interests and maintain connections within the local community. The purpose of befriending is to socialise with the person living with dementia and engage in activities they enjoy. The Befriending Volunteer is not responsible for and will not carry out personal care, administration of medicines, banking or housework.
