Our Befriending Service covers the whole of Monmouthshire. We have Befriending Coordinators who work in Monmouth, Abergavenny, Chepstow and Caldicot. Our base is at the Bridges Centre in Monmouth. If we can’t pair you up straightaway, we will let you know and we will keep your details in case we get a suitable volunteer.

Service Eligibility
The scheme supports individuals over 65 who have become socially isolated. People become isolated and may feel lonely for a range of reasons, both medical and age related. Our aim is to provide a ‘friend’ who will visit on a regular basis in order to improve the wellbeing of both beneficiary and volunteer.
Individuals can refer themselves to us, or can be referred by family or friends. We also receive referrals from local agencies and medical professionals.

If you are interested in volunteering, as a Befriender, the Volunteer Coordinator will talk to you about what is involved, and will do some checks such as a criminal record check.
