About East Ayrshire Council Children and young peoples befriending service
The children & young people’s befriending service is a voluntary, mutually, beneficial and purposeful relationship based support. It can take place on a one-to-one basis, family or within group settings. Each support to a child or young person focuses on building trusting relationships, building confidence and supporting with any concerns or challenges faced by the child/young person. Each relationship clarifies purpose and intended outcomes with the support of the family support worker and the parent/carers. All befrienders are volunteers from all walks of life and are supported through training, supervisions and out of pocket expenses covered.
