About Fife Young Carers
At FYC we support children and young people ages up to 25 in Fife who have a caring role for a family member. The befriending project seeks to provide a means by which our young carers can take a break from their caring role and be active out in their community. This can be walks in the park, a trip to a museum or the shops, chats in a coffee shop or just standing looking at the sea! We want our volunteer befrienders to bring their personality, spark, empathy and creativity to their volunteer befriending role, and in our turn we offer our support and training to help establish a befriending relationship that will really make a difference to a young carer. Service Eligibility
We support Young Carers under 25 who live in Fife. Anyone can make a referral via our website, or by phoning the main office.
Information for Volunteers
We support children and young people ages 0-25 in Fife who have a caring role. Befriending volunteers would support these young carers and young adults carers to access opportunities with Fife.
Apply via application form, available upon request from sara@fifeyoungcarers.co.uk. Sara is happy to meet in person, either here at our offices or at a place that works for you to chat through the form and answer any questions.
Befriending visits would ideally be once month or once a fortnight for an hour and a half, you will be able to claim back mileage and expenses
