About Glasgow’s Golden Generation
Glasgow’s Golden Generation’s befriending service is aimed at supporting older people within the community, who may be experiencing loneliness or social isolation, and who may need support to engage within their community. community, Our service matches volunteer befrienders with older adults with similar interests. These trained volunteers will engage with the befriended once a week through telephone call, home visit, or within the local community, where possible.

Information for Volunteers
Anyone can become a befriender you don’t need any qualifications, but you will receive full training and support. When you have received your training and you are ready to start supporting the befriended, you will be matched with an older adult with similar interests in your area.
