About Hope Community Project (Wolverhampton)
Together Here’ is a volunteer led project which will’welcome the stranger.’ Once per month, we will invite all new residents to the neighbourhood with a particular focus on residents from refugee and migrant communities. Our telephone befriending service aims to provide emotional support through a weekly conversation to help individuals achieve greater independence and self-confidence. Residents will be matched to a volunteer who will provide a weekly 20 30 minute phone call at a time agreed over six weeks (this can be extended if needed). Each befriending relationship is different, but the key aims include: making friendships and social connections with people from Wolverhampton; improving conversational English skills; building bridges into the local community and culture; increasing understanding of life in Wolverhampton and the UK; reducing isolation and lonelinessHOPE (Helping Older People Engage) is a befriending service befriending service which aims to creates amazing friendship built on trust and respect. The service offers support and companionship to older people aged 55 plus who feel or are at risk of becoming lonely and or socially isolated Heath Town, Wolverhampton.
