About Home-Start East Lothian
Home-Start East Lothian supports vulnerable families with at least one child under five through the recruitment, training and placement of volunteer befrienders who can offer support, friendship and practical assistance. Home-Start East Lothian endeavours to fulfil a preventive role, wherein families in difficulty can be supported by well-trained volunteers, lessening the chance of family problems deteriorating to the point where statutory intervention is required.

Parents / carers that live in East Lothian and have at least one child under 5 years old, or are pregnant.

We need your help; if you can spare as little as an hour a week, you could help parents not just survive but thrive during this crisis.
As a Home-Start volunteer, you will be given training and support to be effective and make a real difference to families in your community. You will also develop transferable skills which can support you in your life, whether that’s at home or at work.
