Established in 2006, Langworthy Cornerstone is a trusted local charity based in Salford, dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of individuals and families across the communities of Weaste and Seedley, Langworthy, Ordsall, Pendleton, Charlestown and The Quays. The Cornerstone Centre is a large purpose-built Community Anchor and Healthy Living Centre in the heart of Salford, operating as a vibrant community hub which hosts a wide range of services and activities.
At Langworthy Cornerstone Association (LCA), we believe that no one in our community should ever feel alone. Our Befriending Champions Programme is an inclusive community initiative designed to reduce social isolation and support the health and wellbeing of residents across Salford. Whether you are looking for companionship, someone to talk to, or an opportunity to give back as a volunteer, our programme helps build meaningful connections that make a real difference.

Service Eligibility
Our Befriending Champions Programme is an inclusive community initiative designed to reduce social isolation and support the health and wellbeing of residents across Salford. The service is ideal for anyone who is at risk of social isolation or loneliness and would benefit from reliable, one-to-one support with a trained Volunteer Befriender.
You can be referred onto the Befriending Programme either by a professional or through self-referral. Visit our website to find out more and access our referral form.

You can make a meaningful difference in your local community by becoming a Volunteer Befriender. Getting involved is simple and supported every step of the way.
Volunteer Befrienders receive ongoing support and supervision, ensuring the experience is rewarding, safe and positive for everyone involved.
