About PAVO
Powys Befriending Service is a project that is delivered across the whole of Powys. The aim of the service is to improve the independence of people aged 50+ and to support them to maintain their social networks.
Service Eligibility
Powys Befriending Service supports people over the age of 50, living in Powys, to help maintain their independence, improve confidence, develop their social network and reconnect with activities in the community or with a friendly cuppa and chat in their own home. Referrals can be made via a referral form or by calling the service on 01597 822191
Information for Volunteers
We welcome volunteers to provide befriending to individuals by telephone, letter, email or in person in order to support lonely and isolated people over 50 throughout Powys. Expenses and subsistence is paid, full induction, training and on going support is provided.
