We work with people who are lonely and isolated and many of the people who use our service have a problematic relationship with alcohol. We are not a recovery based service. It’s what we call a harm reduction approach. Many people drink less when they have other actives to occupy their time and positive health outcomes come from healthy relationships. We want to provide that healthy relationship and we hope you can use it to explore some of the things in life that are easier when you have a bit of company.

Service Eligibility
Anyone in Edinburgh who is lonely, isolated, struggling with any element of addiction and looking to engage in a relationship for positive health outcomes.
Information for Volunteers
We offer one to one meetings with lonely and isolated individuals in their own homes or in a place in their local community. Many of these individuals have a problematic relationship with alcohol and continue to drink and the majority are in recovery.
We provide full access to all our Crisis Prevention Institute training including coaching qualifications and SVQ.
We have monthly group and one to one supervision and offer double visits with a mentor until you feel ready to go it alone. Many of our volunteers go on to work with us across our other services or gain valuable experience to compliment their psychology or medical career path. Many of our applicants come from people looking for a bit of purpose in their community.
There are many individuals just waiting on their door to be knocked and their kettle to be switched on for a chat and a cuppa.
