About Sandwell Advocacy
Sandwell Citizen’s Advocacy has been dedicated to supporting and offering a voice on behalf of vulnerable people in the Borough of Sandwell, West Midlands, for the past 3 decades.
Sandwell Together is our telephone project that commenced as a response to the Covid pandemic. We offer befriending support for residents who are lonely, isolated and/or alone.
Service Eligibility
The service covers all residents of Sandwell and referrals can be made via the Sandwell Advocacy website.
Information for Volunteers
We are looking for volunteer befrienders to make regular calls to people who are lonely, vulnerable and isolated.
Do you have:
- good communication skills – ability to listen and engage well with others
- patience, sensitivity and kindness
- an ability to keep brief records and an understanding of confidentiality
- a willingness to undertake training and develop your skills?
