Sight Scotland & Sight Scotland Veterans
About Sight Scotland & Sight Scotland Veterans
Sight Scotland is Scotland’s largest vision impairment organisation. Our vision is to see a community in which blind and partially sighted people, including those who have other disabilities, are fully included and lead fulfilling lives. We operate only in Scotland and care for, educate and employ blind and partially sighted people from across the country, with occasional referrals from the wider UK. Sight Scotland Veterans is a registered charity that was established in 1915. Originally, we were established to support blinded soldiers returning from World War 1. Today we support anyone who has served in the armed forces who has a visual impairment, whether they lost their sight during or after service. Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans are sister organisations. Each is a separate legal charity in its own right, with its own registered charity number. We share the same chief executive and board of trustees, along with most HQ functions including volunteering, HR, finance and IT.
