About SLTWG – South London Tamil Welfare Group
Our befriending service is designed to support members of the Tamil-speaking community who face language barriers and social isolation. Through regular, friendly phone conversations, we offer companionship, emotional support, and a bridge to help them reconnect with their community and feel a stronger sense of belonging.
Service Eligibility
Who Can Use Our Befriending Service?
Tamil-speaking individuals, People living in Merton, Wandsworth, or South London and Elderly, isolated, or vulnerable people who feel lonely or disconnected.
Who We Can’t Support: People outside the listed areas or those who don’t speak Tamil.
If you know someone who could benefit, please reach out—we’re happy to help.
Information for Volunteers
We’re looking for kind, reliable volunteers to support lonely or isolated individuals through regular friendly phone calls.
What You’ll Do:
Offer companionship and a listening ear.
Help someone feel connected.
Time Commitment:
1-2 hours per week, flexible to your schedule.
