Tandridge Befriending SchemeAbout Tandridge Voluntary Action
The Tandridge Befriending Scheme supports older people (55+) in the district of Tandridge in East Surrey. Befrienders commit to at least 1 hour per week in person contact over a six month period. The focus is on mutual interests and friendship. We also feed into the Conversational Partners group where those who have experienced aphasia are supported by a befriender

Service Eligibility
Any person over the age of 65 who is socially isolated due to location, mobility issues or lack of connection to people/family/friends/carers. We are completely volunteer run so would have limitations on certain MH/Health conditions that perhaps need more professional help with. We are not a respite/care/shopping/taxi service but a scheme offering companionship and human connection to those who may otherwise be left without any contact with the outside world.
Information for Volunteers
This is currently under review as a we have a new staff team in place. We will be offering potential volunteer befrienders training, support and supervision sessions at least once a month We are also exploring options for volunteer recognition in other ways.
