Purpose of this event

In honour of Global Intergenerational Week (24th – 30th April), we are delighted to invite you to this member-exclusive event that explores and celebrates the power of intergenerational working. This event is designed to provide information to help you review your practice and understand the positive impact of finding creative and effective ways to connect generations.

We are pleased to welcome four academics from three universities in the United Kingdom to our event:

• Rebecca Whear and Joanna Thompson-Coon of the University of Exeter
• Louise A. Brown Nicholls of the University of Strathclyde
• Alan J. Gow of Heriot-Watt University

Two key papers will be presented:

• What is the effect of intergenerational activities on the wellbeing and mental health of older people?
• A systematic review of the impacts of intergenerational engagement on older adults’ cognitive, social and health outcomes
