Purpose of this event

We are aware that the need for befriending is increasing and that many of you are working with limited resources – and this can be challenging! Come and meet one of our members Action in Mind. They will be sharing about the work they do to support clients with their mental well-being. They will be giving us some tips to ensure that we as staff ensure we look after our own well-being and protect the wellbeing of our volunteers.

Come and join us in a relaxed informal setting where there will be opportunity to ask questions and share the challenges of running a befriending project.

Action in Mind is the leading local mental health charity predominantly working across the Stirling Council area, supporting better mental health for everyone.  They provide person-centred, outcome-focused services for people aged 18 and upwards who experience low to moderate mental health conditions as well as people living with long-term chronic mental illnesses. Find out more about them in our directory.

What are networking events?

Befriending Networks offers free networking events to provide a safe and friendly space for those working within community projects to come together, network, share and compare experiences, and learn from one another. If you have anything you’d like to discuss, please let us know in advance of the session. 

Participation Guidance

These events are hosted on Zoom and are free and welcome to all – members and non-members of Befriending Networks. We ask all our attendees to come online prepared to discuss with others, listen and learn. If you have a particular question or topic you would like the group to discuss, please contact the event facilitator in advance to add it to our agenda.
