Overall, it was a great course to attend because of the mixture of training slides and conversations with other organisations. There were very experienced staff on the call and there was a great balance of giving information and appreciating the experience around the table.

Purpose of Course

One of the most raised problems at our networking events is volunteer retention. When time and effort have been placed into recruitment, training, and matching of volunteers, we understand the frustration or disappointment that can occur when volunteers disengage. Join this session to learn and discuss the seven key principles of retention. The theory from this training could be applied to befriending projects, mentoring projects, or any other volunteer-led community project.

Discussion Points Include

Marketing what is on offer and delivering realistic expectations
Problem-solving within budget
Monitoring the impact of the role with your volunteers
Embedding support and building rapport
Shared experience and networking

Resources and Additional Support

All attendees will access an online delegate pack of resources, tools, and guidance post-event that can support continued development and the creation of action plans in your team to improve retention.

Please check your diary before committing to any dates. We understand that your circumstances may require a change of training dates. If you need to cancel or defer your order:

Up to 48 hours before the course begins: your order will be refunded, subject to a £15 administration fee. Alternatively, you can defer your order to the next occurrence of the same course.
Within 48 hours of the course beginning, including non-attendance: your order is non-refundable and cannot be deferred.

Please note that all courses operate with a minimum number of delegates. If this number is not obtained, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the event date. Your event facilitator will contact you to discuss options. In such cases where we cannot fulfil your order, a full refund will be given.
