Home and Telephone Befriending Service
About Age UK North Tyneside
We provide a friendship service to older people in North Tyneside, to help reduce loneliness and isolation in our community. Our volunteer led service offers home visit befriending and telephone befriending. This service is free of charge. Our organisation is also able to help older people define any other help they may want to improve their wellbeing. This includes access to qualified information and advice e.g. benefits .Service Eligibility
Our Befriending service offers supportive, reliable friendships to people over 50 who would otherwise be socially isolated.
Information for Volunteers
Volunteering as a Befriender can be a rewarding way to make a difference while creating a lasting friendship. You can volunteer for face-to-face befriending where you will visit a customer in their home, or telephone befriending where you will call a customer on a regular basis.
