Apply for Quality Award

New applications

If you are new to the Quality in Befriending Award, or your accreditation has lapsed, please register your interest to start your Award process.

After you’ve registered your interest, we’ll reach out to ask you to complete a Readiness Checklist before you go on to complete the application form.

Once we have processed your application form – 

• An assessment fee invoice will be issued 
• An initial meeting or telephone call with your assessor will be arranged 
• Once we’ve received your assessment fee, you’ll receive your login details for our online portal and can begin uploading evidence 

Reaccreditation

If you’re already a Quality Award holder, you can complete the simplified Reaccreditation process to extend your accreditation period.

Age UK applications

Age UK or Age Cymru Partners with Charity Quality Standard (CQS) certification can take advantage of a lighter assessment and a reduced assessment fee for our Quality in Befriending Award.

CQS certification demonstrates compliance with a range of Quality Award indicators. Age UK Partners holding current CQS certification therefore benefit from a reduction in the number of required indicators and must provide evidence for only 46 of the total 60 indicators to obtain Quality Award status.
