Role Description
Monifieth Befrienders is looking for an enthusiastic and caring Community Contact Coordinator to become partĀ of their small, dedicated team.
This is a varied and rewarding role that focuses on supporting people before they are matched with a befriender, helping them remain connected and
encouraging them to participate in their wide range of groups and activities.
As Community Contact Coordinator, you will maintain regular contact with individuals on their waiting list, accompany new Friends and volunteers during their first visits, support the delivery of community groups, coordinate the monthly Decade Disco, and assist with the day-to-day running of the organisation.
Skills and Qualities
Essential
- A Qualification in English
- Current UK driving licence and access to a car
- Experience in working with older adults preferably, although not necessarily, in a small organisation or charity setting
- Experience/knowledge of the local community
- Competent IT skills with experience in Word, PowerPoint and emailing
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to relate to/work with people of all ages, especially older adults
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to work in group settings
- Ability to support older adults individually and in groups
- Ability to respond appropriately to problems which may arise
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks
- Open, friendly personality with a genuine interest in older people
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Non-judgmental
- A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to help others

- Previous experience working in the Third Sector

Monifieth Befrienders is a local charity based in Monifieth, Angus. Since 2000, they have been helping reduce loneliness and social isolation by connecting older people with volunteer befrienders and providing a range of community groups and activities.
Our services include one-to-one befriending, intergenerational projects, social events and wellbeing activities that help people stay connected and supported.
