About Lincolnshire Cares (Serving the Caistor Area of Lincolnshire)
Our aim is to reduce isolation in elderly people in the Caistor area of Lincolnshire.
We provide a befriending service to address loneliness and social isolation among older people in the Caistor area.
We have a group of 28 friendly volunteers operating in Caistor and North and South Kelsey. They welcome all of our members to weekly coffee mornings in Caistor and South Kelsey. We also invite our members to our free Summer and Christmas parties held in Caistor Town Hall, which are attended by around 80 guest members each time.
In addition, we have volunteer befrienders who visit a small number of our members in their home; and others are befriended by telephone.
We welcome approaches from people in the Caistor area of Lincolnshire who would like to use our service and also volunteers who have a little time to spare and who would like to help people in their local community.
Service Eligibility
We welcome approaches from people who are over 60 and who live in the Caistor and North/South Kelsey area of Lincolnshire. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to provide any transport to and from our coffee mornings for our members.

Information for Volunteers
Would you be interested in volunteering with Lincolnshire Cares in the Caistor area? Our volunteers are a very helpful group of people and find their work very rewarding.
You could help in a number of ways:
- Helping at the coffee mornings – making tea/ coffee, washing up and/or chatting to our members
- Befriend a member either through visiting their home to chat with them or by telephoning them – this is usually for around an hour once a week
You would need to be DBS checked and provide us with a person’s details who would act as a referee. We will give you induction, safeguarding and basic first aid training (where appropriate) and support while you are befriending.
We do not provide any physical care to our members, we just aim to reduce isolation that older people sometimes feel when living alone and being housebound.
