Care and Share Companionship
About Care and Share Companionship
Care and Share Companionship supports people over 60 living in isolation or feeling lonely. We primarily match volunteers to older people for face-to-face visits but sometimes for phone calls on a weekly or fortnightly basis. We supplement this with a programme of social events and activities; larger events include a Christmas celebration, a Burns celebration and a “Spring Fling”, but we also organise smaller activities such as visits to the local primary school, art workshops, lunch and supper clubs. Our social events and activities are available to those waiting to be matched with a volunteer, as well as to those already in an active match. Volunteers can visit at home, or if appropriate can go out with their ‘Friend’ for a walk or a coffee. This is a free service. A small courtesy payment is requested for a refreshment for the volunteer if people wish to go out for a cuppa.16, East Fergus Place, Kirkcaldy, Scotland, KY1 1XT

We can support people with a very early stage dementia diagnosis, as long as the person is able to recognise and remember their volunteer from week to week.
We unfortunately are unable to support people living in care homes.
Referrals can be made by the person seeking support, by family members or friends, or through professional support services or agencies. To request a referral form, please visit Contact | Care And Share Companionship | Kirkcaldy.
