Befriending Networks member, NSPCC/Childline, are currently looking for the right people to join their team to help deliver befriending services for young people across the UK.
Befriending Coordinator
The NSPCC are searching for a Building Connections Befriending Coordinator to join the NSPCC as we launch a brand new service for young people experiencing loneliness. The NSPCC is further expanding its national offer with a new UK-wide service targeted specifically at supporting young people experiencing loneliness.
The Befriending Coordinator role will be integral for the delivery of the NSPCC Building Connections Service. The post-holder will
- Have line-management responsibility for a cohort of geographically dispersed volunteer,supporting their growth, development and retention
- Support the operational delivery of the Building Connections Service through recruitment and training activities
- Contribute directly to holding sessions with young people.
This is a fixed term, fully remote, full time role until the end of March 2026. The successful candidate will need to be based in Scotland.

Building Connections Team Manager
The NSPCC are currently recruiting for a fixed term Team Manager on a 1 year fixed term basis to lead the growth, development and support of a geographically dispersed team of staff and volunteers with overall responsibility for the operational delivery of the NSPCC Building Connections Service.
They will:
- Provide line management and supervision to ensure practice standards and principles of safeguarding are maintained at all times.
- Participate in a Duty Manager rota to provide advice, guidance and support on operational and safeguarding matters relevant to this service.
- Lead on the development and implementation of a volunteer recruitment strategy
- Facilitate the growth of the service through outreach activities and by acting as a key representative to external partners.
The NSPCC are looking for individuals who have:
- A strong management background with comprehensive safeguarding experience.
- A creative and enthusiastic approach to working with others to shape processes and service delivery.
- A passion for delivering front-line services for children and young people.
The role is part-time (21 hours per week) and remote/flexible.
