London Irish Centre receive reaccreditation with Excellence Award
2nd July 2025
We’re delighted to announce our most recent reaccreditation for the Quality Award, London Irish Centre!
The London Irish Centre has served the Irish community in London since it was first established in 1955. Their befriending service offers a blended approach of contact. People are matched with volunteers, who provide weekly telephone calls and/or in-person community/home visits, depending on the befriendee’s circumstances. They co-hosted our very first Journey Across Befriending roadshow earlier this year.
This is London Irish Centre’s second reaccreditation of the Quality in Befriending Award. Following a site visit, the charity decided to aim for the Excellence Award during this reaccreditation. Their assessment showed that befrienders felt welcomed, supported and listened to by the service, and received interactive training to help them feel more comfortable in their role. Service users said the relationships are respectful and make them very happy.
Sandra went along to the London Irish Centre Volunteers’ Week 2025 celebration to present their Award. Congratulations on achieving your reaccreditation!
