New Member Trustee appointed to our Board

We are delighted to announce our most recent appointment to the Befriending Networks board, Claire Roberts joins us as a Member Trustee. Claire is the Volunteer Coordinator at member organisation, Honeycomb Group, and was selected following a robust selection process. She will bring member insight and governance experience that will help us to advance our mission to support organisations to deliver quality befriending services that promote wellbeing and meaningful connections, ensuring that everyone feels valued.

Claire is the Volunteer Officer for Honeycomb Group in Stoke-on-Trent with a passion for reducing loneliness and social isolation through meaningful volunteering and community connection. She developed a volunteer-led befriending service that achieved Gold Quality Standards accreditation and was shortlisted for a national social care award. Claire is committed to ensuring people with lived experience help shape inclusive, person-centred services.

Alongside her current role, she brings over 25 years of leadership, education, and workforce development experience within the veterinary sector, including serving as an elected member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Council, where she contributed to professional education and governance. Claire is a Dementia Friend and is passionate about collaboration, volunteering and helping communities build meaningful connections. Claire joined our board as Member Trustee in August 2026.
