About Age UK Leicester Shire and Rutland
Our Befriending service offers companionship and support to older people who are lonely or isolated. This includes telephone calls, home visits and support to engage with social groups.
Befriending support is provided by trained volunteers who are DBS checked and trained before they are matched with an older person.
Befriending volunteers offer a range of support including friendly conversation, a listening ear and help with attending social activities.

Information for Volunteers
To visit clients who may be experiencing isolation and loneliness and offer support and companionship. You will also support and encourage individuals to participate in the community. The role can be based across Leicester City, County and Rutland.
