About Age UK Solihull

Our Linking People Together Project is here to help people aged 65 years and over feel more connected, confident and involved in their community. If you’re feeling lonely, isolated, or finding it difficult to get out and about after a significant change in your life, we’re here to support you.
We offer short‑term, personalised support to help you build confidence, try new activities, and reconnect with others. We can help you find local groups and social opportunities that match your interests. A friendly Age UK Solihull volunteer can support you face‑to‑face or by phone, helping you take small steps towards the things you enjoy, we can also support you to learn useful digital skills, such as video calling family and friends, or using apps to stay connected.
Our aim is to help you feel less lonely and isolated, more independent, more confident, and more engaged in your community.

Service Eligibility

Age: 65+ years of age or over.

A Solihull resident currently residing in Solihull.

Be able to fully participate in the planning process and agreed activity.

An individual who is socially isolated and/or lonely, or at risk of loneliness

Individuals must be committed to developing a co-produced plan to ensure the right pathway of support is progressed for them.

Individuals need to be self-caring and undertake their own personal care needs.

While we aim to support as wide a range of people as possible, there are some situations where the service may not be the most suitable option for an individual. Our shortterm, communitybased support is not designed for individuals with complex mental health needs, addiction, or those living with advanced dementia or significant cognitive decline, where more specialist or clinical services would be more appropriate
