Alcohol & Drugs Action

  • Recruiting Volunteers

About Alcohol & Drugs Action

If you or someone in your family has problems with substance misuse then you can receive a phone call and/or face to face meetings with a trained volunteer to help with isolation and feelings of loneliness.  This is part of a package offered by ADA where volunteers supplement the work of addiction workers to support people with alcohol and drug problems.  We also have volunteer led groups where people can come along and enjoy the friendship of other group members and volunteers to support them in their recovery.

Scotland, AB11 6NU

Service Eligibility

Anyone who is currently open to our service and has been referred by a professional or can attend and self-refer by coming along to our drop in service which is open 7 days a week.  This includes individuals with their own addictions issues and family members.

Information for Volunteers

As a volunteer you would receive training in general substance misuse knowledge and specific telepone, face to face and group participant and leadership.  ADA volunteers will provide social contact and are not expected to provide addiction support to people with a substance misuse problem themselves or a family member.
