About Battersea Befriending Network
Battersea Befriending Network (BBN) offers a one-to-one befriending relationship to those who have been referred to us and are living in within the London Borough of Wandsworth with a mental health diagnosis. BBN understands that in this situation you may well be feeling lonely and perhaps less confident than you were previously and our desire is to help you to feel less lonely and more confident. All our befrienders are volunteers. They are not offering therapy but company and some people also find their confidence grows as the relationship develops. BBN also aims to support those on our waiting list, who are able to leave their home, with monthly social meetings.

Information for Volunteers
Battersea Befriending Network offers one-to-one befriending relationships to those living within the Borough of Wandsworth with a mental health diagnosis and are suffering social isolation. The befriending role is to be a friend, not a therapist, and through the developing relationship both befriender and befriendee often find their confidence grows. BBN gives volunteers free training and a mentor as well as Support meetings every 3 months. Each relationship is unique but we ask volunteers not to over-commit their time as it is important to be able to be reliable.
