Formby Befriending Scheme

  • Recruiting Volunteers

About Formby Befriending Scheme

We are an independent charity offering companionship and support to older people who mostly live alone and have become socially isolated or are no longer able to get out and about as much as they used to.  We have Befrienders, and hold regular coffee clubs for our members, and our wider, aged community.  Plus an activity coffee club programme for winter months.
We hold information sessions for our members and our wider elderly community, such as Staying Well in Winter.
In August, in partnership with Churches Together, we hold a fortnight of activities such as musical entertainment, shows, quizzes, parties, meals, health and fitness to name a few.  The programme usually offers around 30 events, hosted in local community buildings by various groups, local businesses and churches.
