Hathersage Befrienders

About Hathersage Befrienders

We all need friends and support. Human contact is essential for us to survive. Hathersage Befrienders has a great team of volunteers ready to provide friendship, support and encouragement to people of any age who feel isolated, or are at risk of becoming isolated. We work on a one to one basis where a volunteer is matched to a friend based on a range of factors, including interests. We continue to work with both parties to ensure they are happy and getting the most out of the relationship. Volunteers visit Hathersage residents in their homes, accompany members to local events and may take them out for a short walk or trip, with the aim of building valuable and long lasting friendships.
