intandem
About intandem
intandem provides regular mentoring for children and young people involved in the care system, under a compulsory supervision order at hom, or at risk of, or in kinship care. Mentoring is available for those aged 8-15 when starting, and it can continue as long as needed, even if living arrangements change. Through a network of 12 partner charities, intandem matches young people with trained volunteers, fostering positive, long-term relationships with frequent meetings. Funded by the Scottish Government and The Robertson Trust, and delivered by Inspiring Scotland, intandem operates in 20 local authorities across Scotland.

Information for Volunteers
Information for Volunteers:
intandem’s success is down to the dedication of volunteer mentors who are consistently there for young people. We rely on volunteers to provide a positive, trusted and fun role model for children and young people. After full training and screening, you will meet weekly with your ‘mentee’ (a child or young person aged between 8-15 years) to encourage them to explore their goals and local community through different activities. On-going training and support is provided throughout the mentoring relationship. Mentors tell us the learning and development is two-way. Being a mentor is incredibly rewarding and can also help widen your skill set and broaden your CV. If you’re interested in becoming a mentor, find your local intandem on our website.
