About Le Cheile Mentoring

Le Cheile Mentoring is a national, volunteer mentoring and family support service in Ireland, which works with young people and their families, where the young person is involved in or at risk of offending.  Youth Mentoring is a one-to-one relationship-based support between a volunteer mentor and a young person.  Mentors act as a positive role model, advisor and friendly supporter.  They get involved with young people in various structured and planned activities and help them build self-esteem and self-confidence.  Parent mentoring helps parents or carers develop their own parenting skills and gives support with parenting issues.  Parent mentoring provides a non-judgemental time and space outside the family home to parents under pressure.
