About Lincolnshire Cares
Lincolnshire Cares is a voluntary organisation, offering friendship and support to people over the age of 60 in a small number of towns and villages in the county. We are a charity registered with the Charity Commission.Based in the town of Caistor in the north of the county, we are committed to providing a friendly and caring service, that is both trusted and professional.Currently, our main service is our Befriending Service, whereby our members are carefully and personally matched to one of our volunteer befriendersu201d, allowing a friendship to develop and regular visits take place. In response to the pandemic, our service now includes the option to befriend by telephone. We also host a weekly coffee morning in Caistor and North Kelsey. In addition, we host afternoon teas, film showings and well-attended Summer and Christmas parties.We welcome approaches from people in the surrounding district who would like to use our service and also volunteers who have a little time to spare and who would like to help people in their local community.To ensure everyone’s safety and security, all volunteers are interviewed, with references taken, a Police check made, and trained before any introductions are made.
