SWAN Women’s Centre
Befriending ServiceAbout SWAN Women’s Centre
We are a women and girls centre based in Sefton, Liverpool, offering face to face and telephone online befriending support for 12 months for women over 18 years old. The service is informal with a cyclical based approach. Our aim is to reduce isolation and loneliness that women in the community experience as a result of poor mental health. Our befriender’s can go for coffee, a walk, to appointments and other community groups settings with the Befriended person. We aim to support people to access their community long after the befriending relationship ends.

Information for Volunteers
We are an all-women organisation providing a range of mental health services that span across Sefton. We offer comprehensive training and support for the life of your commitment with ongoing training opportunities. We like to add small touches of kindness for our volunteers as without them, our whole organisation would cease to exist. We get together on a bimonthly basis and host volunteer celebrations throughout the year. We have a whole organisation get together for Christmas and we acknowledge volunteers dedication.
