The Living Well Project Befriending Service is based in Newhills, Aberdeen. We offer a befriending service for anyone aged 65 or over, who is socially isolated or lonely who lives in Bridge of Don, Bucksburn, Dyce, Newhills and Kingswells. Trained volunteers (Befrienders) are matched with those referred (Befriendees) and can arrange weekly visits.
Service Eligibility
Anyone aged 65 or over who is lonely or socially isolated can be supported by the service if they live in the following areas of Aberdeen- Bridge of Don, Bucksburn. Dyce, Newhills and Kingswells.
Referrals can be made by the person, a friend or relative or a health care professional. They can be made by phone, or by filling in the referral form from our website.
Information for Volunteers
Our Trained Volunteers visit older people, who are socially isolated and lonely, in their own homes. Volunteers offer friendship by visiting either weekly or fortnightly for about an hour. If they are able they may go out for a coffee, go to the shops or visit local places of interest.
