About Volunteer Action
Volunteer Action offers both a Face to Face Befriending Scheme and a Telephone Scheme, The Scheme operates within VA’s catchment area in North East Northamptonshire and supports isolated or lonely people who are in receipt of State Pension or have a disability or a life limiting illness. The Face to Face Scheme pairs up a member with a volunteer who will make regular visits to the members home. A matched volunteer will call once a week for a chat on the Telephone Befriending Scheme. Just a small commitment of time each month could make a big difference in a lonely person’s life. Volunteer Action’s Scheme operates within VA’s catchment area in North East Northamptonshire and supports isolated or lonely people who are in receipt of State Pension or have a disability or a life limiting illness. You will be matched with one person. Our service is simple – meet at the member’s house a couple of times a month for a chat and a cup of tea or sign up to be a Telephone Befriender and ring an isolated person weekly for a simple chat.
