Our Youth Befriending service supports young people aged 8 – 16 years, who live in East Lothian. We offer young people a befriender, to meet with once a week for around 2-3 hours, over a 6 month period.Together with a befriender, the young person can feel supported to do things they enjoy, have fun in their local community, perhaps try new things and sometimes even have a treat day!

Information for Volunteers
Our Youth Befriending service supports young people aged 8 – 16 years, who live in East Lothian. The young people are referred to us from a variety of professionals such as Social Services for varied reasons. We hope to offer young people a befriender to meet with once a week for around 2-3 hours, over a 6 month period.Together with a befriender, the young person can feel supported to do things they enjoy, have fun in their local community, perhaps try new things and sometimes even have a treat dayVolunteering with us will be a rewarding and challenging experience. You will attend bespoke and targeted training and will have ongoing support throughout. Our require our volunteers to be 18 years or older, be prepared to become a PVG member and have two people we can ask for a reference.
