As 2026 comes to a close, we invite our network to join us for a practical, peer-learning session that will blend networking, reflection and planning.

Plan Your Year of Development: Reflect, Evaluate and Lead Change

As befriending services continue to respond to changing needs, funding challenges and growing demand, taking time to reflect and plan is more important than ever.

This interactive Befriending Networks member session combines practical learning, peer discussion and networking to help you review the year so far and identify priorities for the year ahead. Drawing on key themes from our Management and Leadership in Befriending Projects and Monitoring, Evaluating and Reporting Impact training courses, we’ll explore how evaluation can inform service development, identify meaningful areas for improvement, and lead change with confidence.

Through facilitated discussions, shared learning and reflective activities, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with colleagues from across the network, exchange ideas and leave with practical actions to support your service’s development.

Participants will:

Reflect on your service’s strengths, challenges and opportunities.
Explore simple approaches to measuring and understanding performance.
Consider priorities for development in the coming year.
Learn practical tips for managing and communicating change.
Leave with 2 – 3 actions to take forward in your organisation.

Who should attend this event?

This event is designed to be suitable for coordinators, managers and anyone involved in leading, developing or evaluating a befriending service.

This event is free to members of Befriending Networks. Please sign in to activate your discount.

Cancellation Policy

Please check your diary before committing to any dates. We understand that your circumstances may require a change of training dates. If you need to cancel or defer your order:

Up to 3 working days before the course begins: your order will be refunded, subject to a £15 administration fee. Alternatively, you can defer your order to the next occurrence of the same course.
Within 3 working days of the course beginning, including non-attendance: your order is non-refundable and cannot be deferred.

Please note that all courses operate with a minimum number of delegates. If this number is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the event. Your event facilitator will contact you to discuss options. In such cases where we cannot fulfil your order, a full refund will be given.
