New platform seeks to reach a new generation of volunteers
16th September 2025
In this guest blog, the Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) share exciting news about the launch of a new volunteer recruitment platform and how you can make the most of it.
An exciting new national platform is coming to volunteering this October. Developed by Royal Voluntary Service and powered by players of the People’s Postcode Lottery, its launch is backed by a significant media campaign, designed to inspire a new generation.
We know volunteers’ needs continue to change and this platform is built to respond, focusing on flexibility, accessibility and putting volunteers in control. So if you’re already modernising your volunteering programme, now is a great time to accelerate your plans.
Building your pipeline of new supporters
Built around a simple ‘click and connect’ ethos, volunteers can filter their search by cause, location and availability, helping them find the quickest, smoothest path to your door. The innovative ‘on board once’ feature also includes a handy built-in identity check, saving you time in your onboarding process.
While you can advertise your core roles, new categories are designed to appeal to new types of volunteer —such as those seeking one-off opportunities, remote or online only activities, skills-based projects and even employee volunteering.
And to remove as many barriers as possible, it’s been built with input from those with lived experience of the very obstacles we want to break down.
In a nutshell, this free to use, ‘always on’ national channel is here to save you time and help build a new pipeline of supporters.
Builds on your existing recruitment plans
The platform is not here to replace your volunteer manager system (VMS). It acts primarily as an opportunity finder, doing for volunteering what Rightmove did for house hunters—empowering their search and growing reach and awareness for all.
It also adds value by integrating into your existing workflow; an open API (with developer documentation and bulk uploads) will be available from launch, and we’ll follow this up with integrations with several popular volunteer management systems, making it easy to re-publish your opportunities.
Finally, we are also talking with local infrastructure organisations to understand how the platform can complement their objectives.
Get campaign ready
