Congratulations to The Welcoming on achieving their Quality Award

We’re delighted to announce our most recent reaccreditation for the Quality Award, achieved by The Welcoming!

The Welcoming is a Scottish charity dedicated to supporting asylum seekers, refugees and migrants in Edinburgh. Their befriending service connects New Scots (aged 18+) with local people for a 9-month match, so that they can make connections, explore the city together and share their culture, including being able to practice speaking English. They also run seasonal and and group befriending activities, and other services such as a community fridge, English classes and employment support.

Their Quality Award assessment showed a real sense of The Welcoming being a valued community for the New Scots, befrienders and staff members. The service is adaptable to people’s needs and delivered with a great deal of warmth, fun and care. Congratulations to the whole team on achieving your reaccreditation!
