SWAN Women’s Centre gains Excellence Award reaccreditation
20th May 2026
We’re delighted that SWAN Women’s Centre have achieved their reaccreditation in the Quality in Befriending Excellence Award!
SWAN Women’s Centre provides services that support and empower women and teenage girls across Sefton and Liverpool. SWAN’s befriending service supports women aged 18+ who are experiencing loneliness or isolation linked to mental health and emotional wellbeing barriers. Volunteers work with women across Sefton who are not yet able to fully engage in their community, helping them build confidence, reconnect socially and access services independently. In addition to their befriending service, the centre also offers counselling, groups, classes, activities and therapies.
Their assessment showed a welcoming service that is safe, supportive and professional. The policies and procedures shared with our assessor, Hayley, were clear and conscientious. SWAN have been Excellence Award holders since 2022 and continue to demonstrate the quality of their befriending service with this recent reaccreditation.
Congratulations on achieving your Excellence Award!
