Tackling isolation so no one is left coping alone, to improve wellbeing and creating improved social connections through volunteering. Creating a community to support older better, helping them to remain safe and well.

Service Eligibility
Community volunteering which includes befrinding and Free friendship calls for the over-50s.
Community Volunteering, based in the comunity or at a clients home supporting poeple who have no access to support who are isolated.
Community Helpers help their clients about every 2 weeks for at least 1 to 2 hours per week.
Weekly calls  friendly, weekly, 30-minute to 1-hour chat on the phone can make all the difference.
Information for Volunteers
Person Specifications:
– Good communication skills, face-to-face.
– Good IT skills would be a bonus.
– Patient with a non-judgemental attitude
– Awareness and understanding of confidentiality issues
– Sense of humour and warm welcoming personality
– Reliability
– Understanding of and empathy with the needs of older people
– Willingness to attend training and other events
– The ability to drive and have access to your own vehicle would be beneficial, but not essential as you will be matched to beneficiaries that are local to your area and can be reached by public transport
