Purpose of Course

This module is designed to develop your knowledge and understanding of the befriending pathway, from the beginning of a match to its ending. Endings must be handled carefully to ensure any positive work done or progress made is protected. This course reviews good practice and protocol with befriending matches. Learning Objectives include

• To demonstrate an understanding of matching methods
• To compare match meeting practice with attendees from other projects
• To create an efficient referral form
• To discuss methods for collecting and storing data
• To plan for match endings and design a positive procedure for your service

Time Commitment

During this five-hour event, participants will discuss and share practice, completing interactive tasks. There will be comfort breaks throughout the event. Post-event, participants can earn a certificate of completion by completing the online summative quiz to demonstrate learning. Participants will also gain access to course materials, including relevant sample policies, procedures or guides.
