Bring your befrienders and service users for a unique befriending activity on the London Cable Car!
For Befriending Week 2026, we’re partnering with Transport for London (TfL) to offer an experience that celebrates the power of conversation and social connection.
As you fly 90 metres above the River Thames, you’ll share a cabin with other Befriending Week ticket holders. Please do ask each other questions in the cabin to spark conversation and get you chatting.
Each ticket includes a free hot drink and round trip on the Cable Car. Please book 1 ticket per person.
The Befriending Week Cable Car Experience will run from Monday 2nd – Friday 6th November 2026.
As part of the launch of Befriending Week on Monday 2 November, TfL are partnering with Befriending Networks members Volunteer Centre Greenwich, who will be hosting a Games and Connections event to bring people together and encourage new friendships. This event is designed to bring people together in a relaxed and friendly environment, with board games, conversation, and opportunities to build new friendships in the Cable Car Experience café. Refreshments will also be provided.
Volunteer Centre Greenwich would love for your organisation to join them, to share the fantastic work you do, and bring along your befrienders and befriendees to enjoy an afternoon of fun, connection, and community. If you would like to attend, please email befriending@volunteersgreenwich.co.uk to reserve your place.
If your attendees have limited mobility, please contact Transport for London’s Dial-A-Ride Team on 0343 222 7777 (lines open Monday to Friday 09:00 -16:00). Please note 48 hours’ notice is required for anyone wishing to travel to the event.
This event is for befriending staff, volunteers, service users and the general public.
The meeting point for this event is IFS Greenwich Peninsula Terminal, Edmund Halley Way, London SE10 0FR.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with Transport for London directly via EventBrite.

This course is designed to support both staff and volunteers in supporting others through loss: loss of life, loss of independence, and loss of mobility.
Join us to share your questions, challenges and successes with other Befriending Projects around the UK. This session is open for anyone to ask questions or share good practice.
This interactive Befriending Networks member session combines practical learning, peer discussion and networking to help you review the year so far and identify priorities for the year ahead.
