Updates from the road: Journey Across Befriending visits York and Glasgow
2nd April 2025
Our Journey Across Befriending Roadshow is well underway, and it’s been fantastic to connect with our network in York and Glasgow.
York Roadshow
On 12th March, Nicola and Becky joined our fantastic co-hosts MySight York for our York Roadshow. Participants enjoyed the informal approach that gave them flexibility to chat to other organisations and find out different ways they run their befriending service.
“It was nice to go to an event where we were not talked at and instead we got to connect with other projects and got to have our own voice”
— Participant feedback

Glasgow Roadshow
Later in the month, Victoria, Hayley and Cat headed to Glasgow to co-host a session with the wonderful team at the No. 1 Befriending Agency. Glasgow was our biggest Roadshow event yet, with 28 people gathering to meet other people in the befriending sector. Participants especially enjoyed the topical discussions, which gave them the opportunity to hear how people tackle specific issues and find different ways to serve their community.
“I had such a great time at the Befriending Networks roadshow in Glasgow. I met so many great people and it was inspiring to hear about everyone’s projects. It can be hard in the 3rd Sector to feel like you’re doing enough or you’re the only one facing hurdles but these meetings help to remind me how turbulent the sector is and we’re all facing similar issues.”
– Stewart, CACE
